Self-sufficient land design
Land that feeds, waters and powers itself.
Flynn Greenprints designs homesteads and farms to be completely self-sufficient, from a city balcony with no acreage to a large estate. Start with a free plan, then we design it properly together.
Every plan includes
- Self-sufficiency score: food, water, energy, feed
- Crop & orchard quantities for your household
- Livestock numbers, land and feed needs
- 12-month livestock health calendar
- Property zoning map, sized to your land
Food
Crops and orchard quantities matched to how many people you feed.
Water
Capture, storage and distribution sized in litres, not guesses.
Energy
Solar, wind, micro-hydro and wood fuel matched to the site.
Soil loops
Manure, compost and waste cycled back into fertility.
Services by scale
Self-sufficiency at any size
No land is too small to start, and no estate too big to close the loop.
No acreage / urban
Balconies, rooftops, courtyards and small yards: vertical growing, microgreens, rainwater barrels, solar and compact protein like quail or bees.
Smallholding
A kitchen garden and orchard sized to your household, laying hens, a few pigs or sheep, roof catchment and a closed compost loop.
Small farm
Rotational paddocks, a small herd or flock, fodder and grain plots, ponds and swales, woodland for fuel, and housing with a full health plan.
Large acreage
Estate-scale grazing systems, agroforestry, water harvesting across the land, renewable microgrids and herd health management at scale.
The approach
01
Read the land
Climate, soil, water, slope and what you already have: buildings, animals and how you live.
02
Close the loops
Every output feeds an input. Manure to compost, compost to beds, surplus to feed.
03
Plan the year
Planting, grazing and a veterinary calendar so the system keeps running season to season.
About
Grounded in real farm work
Behind every design is a lifetime of working on farms, 16 years of it in agriculture, and a degree in veterinary science. That means plans that are practical to run day to day, with animal health and welfare built in from the start.
